Our Mission
The Maverick Rural Robotics Lab seeks to make a positive impact on rural communities through translational robotics research in health and agriculture.
Our research focuses on developing robotic solutions tailored to the unique challenges of rural environments. We specialize in medical robotics and devices, agricultural automation, and assistive technologies, aiming to improve access to healthcare – specifically, in the form of preventative services – and enhance agricultural productivity. By leveraging expertise in robotic system design, artificial intelligence, and image-guided interventions, we are committed to fostering innovation that improves the quality of life in rural communities.
The Maverick Rural Robotics Lab is a laboratory in the Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of Arkansas lead by Principal Investigator Dr. Anthony L. Gunderman, an individual born and raised in Arkansas.
